Cabin Crew
We conduct initial and periodic Cabin Crew medicals as per the UK CAA standards.
This page provides some additional information about Cabin Crew medicals.
Introduction
Cabin crew working on UK-registered aircraft, require a cabin crew medical issued by a UK CAA-approved Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) or Occupational Health Medical Practitioner (OHMP).
If you would like to work on EU-registered aircraft, or an aviation authority other than the UK, it is unlikely that a UK CAA Cabin Crew medical would be recognised.
Please note that we only conduct Cabin Crew medical assessments for the UK CAA in accordance with Part-MED requirements. We do not conduct occupational health assessments for any employer, airline or any other institutions.
Conduct of the medical
A cabin crew medical typically involves taking a medical history, clinical examination of the heart, lungs, abdomen, eyes, musculoskeletal and ENT, as well as neurological systems, blood pressure, urinalysis and visual acuity assessments.
ECGs, audiometry, and spirometry are not routinely performed, however, they may be required based on the history and the clinical examination on the day.
Please see our Price List should any of these additional tests be required.
Upon successful completion of the medical, we will issue a UK CAA cabin crew medical report (specimen provided below) and a letter from us. Both documents need to be signed by the AME and the applicant.
Validity
An initial medical is required for all new cabin crew. Periodic medical assessments are required at intervals no longer than 60 months.
Cabin crew periodic medical assessments carried out up to 45 days prior to the expiry date of the previous Medical Report will be valid for 60 months from that expiry date. Assessments carried out more than 45 days before the expiry date of the previous Medical Report will be valid for 60 months from the date of the medical assessment. (Source: CAA website).
