How do I book a medical?
The most convenient way to book any medical with us is through the "Book online" tab, or by clicking here. Then choose the appropriate medical required. Please contact us if you prefer to book by another means or if you are experiencing technical difficulties.
What shall I do if I have looked at the booking calendar but cannot find a suitable appointment?
Occasionally bookings fill up very quickly. If you cannot find a suitable date/time, or you require an urgent appointment, please contact us and we will accommodate you. We can usually give you an appointment within 48 hours.
Which Class 2 medical shall I book - Initial or Revalidation/Renewal?
If you never held a Class 2 medical before, you need to book an initial medical assessment. If you had one before, you will be aware that you need to revalidate it or renew it (if expired).
What is the validity period of my Class 2 medical?
If you are under 40, the certificate will be valid for 60 months.
If you are issued with a class 2 medical before you reach 40, it will no longer be valid once you reach 42 years of age.
If you are aged between 40 and 50 the certificate will be valid for 24 months.

How shall I prepare for my medical?
Please take a look at the "Preparing for your medical" section.
How do I pay for my medical and/or the additional tests?
The preferred method is to book online and pay through the website. Alternatively you may pay on the day by bank transfer or cash. Please note, however, that any additional tests or fees, that are not part of the routine medical, would be need to be paid for at the time of the medical.
What happens if I am late?
Please inform us as soon as possible that you are running late. A WhatsApp message is usually sufficient, however, if you do not receive a reply swiftly please feel free to call. On most occasions we can accommodate you, however, if we do not hear from you 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, the assumption will be that you will not be turning up and a full fee would need to be charged.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel your appointment at any time. Please use the booking system to cancel your appointment. If cancelled within 72 hours we would need to charge the full fee. Any cancellations before the 72 hours leading up to the appointment is eligible for a full refund.
Can I eat or drink on the day of the medical?
Please eat or drink as you would on any other day, however, do maintain a good level of hydration as this will also aid in the urinalysis part of the medical.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available at all our locations and you are most welcome to use it. Finding a parking space is usually not an issue at any of our clinics.
When will my certificate be issued?
Assuming all standards have been met, we will issue the certificate on the day. If more investigations are necessary, or a referral is required, then this will delay issuing of the medical. We will endeavour to process any consequent administrative work quickly and keep you updated on the progress.
What is the validity period of my Class 1 medical?
Class 1 medical is valid for 12 months. If you are 40 or over, and carry single pilot operations commercial air transport operations carrying passengers, or if you are over 60, then it is valid for 6 months.
When do I need an ECG?
Class 2 pilots require an ECG on their initial medical, at the first examination after age 40 years, and every two years after age 50 years.
What is an ECG over-read?
The UK CAA specifies which ECG machines and interpretative software AMEs may use for UK CAA medicals. The software generates a statement for each ECG, and the CAA provides a list of statements that AMEs are authorised to sign off. If the ECG software produces a statement that is not on this approved list, the ECG must be reviewed by a specialist. This is known as an ECG over-read. In most cases, the ECG is still deemed acceptable, but occasionally further investigations may be required.
Because this specialist review involves additional work, an ECG over-read incurs an extra charge.
What is the difference between a Referral and a Deferral?
If a specialist consultation and/or report is required, e.g. if one has asthma requiring a Consultant Respiratory Physician report, a referral would be required from the AME to the Consultant. A deferral occurs when the AME is required to consult with the CAA about an individual case before issuing a medical certificate.
What is the difference between a Revalidation and a Renewal?
A medical that is still valid i.e. not expired is revalidated.
Any medical that has not expired can be revalidated from 45 days prior the expiry date.
Any medical that goes beyond the expiry date needs to be renewed.
What is the best method to contact you?
Email is the preferred option, especially for medical queries. If you do not get a reply to your email within 3 working days, please send us a WhatsApp message. If your query is urgent, send a WhatsApp message (preferable) or give us a call.
